On this page is a list of resources/software used to implement the project, both Windows and Atari ST software/tools. For a a fairly detailed method of the approach to my project, click here.

This page is still under construction. Resources used in the project take the form of software tools used, and anything else that I might need.

Emulators

Gemulator 2000 - Atari ST emulation software, for use on Windows --- Direct Download -> Additional Support Files

PaCifiST - Another Atari ST emulation utility, the original games/demo/music Atari ST emulator, for DOS. --- Direct Download*

SainT - A good Windows ST emulator, similar to Steem, and like Steem, is 'cycle-accurate', meaning its highly suitable for demos. --- Direct Download

Steem - Another Windows and Linux Atari STE emulator, Steem works with the majority of ST software, and also unlike others works with MIDI programs. --- Direct Download

STew - The successor to WinSTon by the same people, in fact it's the new (name for) WinSTon. --- Direct Download

WinSTon - The first Windows-based Atari ST emulator, no longer supported, and works pretty good with games under Windows --- Direct Download


TOS Desktop Replacement Tools

Atari ST software which replaces TOS' built-in Desktop with a better, beefed up desktop with new and enhanced functions.

Gemulator Explorer - A Windows tool for reading ST and Macintosh media, such as floppy discs --- Direct Download

FastCopy III - A well-known and well-used Atari ST utility for copying and formatting discs. By far the best version and best program of its kind. --- Direct Download (actual FastCopy III program, executable in Atari TOS)

Knife ST - A disc and memory editor for the Atari ST, which can be used to repair and recover corrupted or erased files on floppy discs. --- Direct Download (.ST image file containing Knife ST -press number two when menu loads)

(intro & tutorial page) MakeDisk - A Windows tool for reading ST discs and saving them as ST images, and vice versa

TOS (versions) - The Atari ST operating system, available as downloadable images on the Net. Main versions of TOS include 1, 1.02, 1.04, 1.6/1.62(STE), and 2.06. Needed in addition for most emulators ----- Also see

MSA II - Magic Shadow Archiver, an ST version of the Windows MakeDisk. It reads Atari ST floppy discs, and stores complete discs as files, with the file extension .MSA. In turn the disc images can be written to disc, creating a duplicate of the original floppy disc. --- Direct Download (actual MSA II v2.3+ program, executable in Atari TOS)

ST-Zip - An ST zip compression tool for compressing files into zip files and unzipping zip files. Note that the zip files created should be PC-compatible. --- Direct Download (actual ST-Zip v2.6 program, executable in Atari TOS)

LHarc - The other standard compression tool for the Atari ST LHarc, which supports file types lzh and lha, and some ST programs are compressed into LHarc archives. --- Direct Download (actual LHarc v3.13 installation program, executable in Atari TOS)

PowerArchiver - A zip/compression tool for Windows which supports and opens both zip and lzh formats among others. --- Direct Download (version 6.1, final freeware version)




* Note - The latest PaCifiST version 0.49b is actually an update, it requires the previous version 0.48 already to be installed. Get 0.48 here
