Hello and welcome to this website dedicated to the Atari ST-related project that I am about to begin. The first stage of the project is here now, this website that is publishing the project. The Atari ST Preservation Project, is the name and will be referred to as APP (Atari Preservation Project) or simply the Atari Project.
What the APP is about, it is a personal project that aims to preserve the few remaining Atari ST floppy discs that I have. It has been a few years now since my Atari STfm 520 floppy drive packed it in, I know I tested it, and since then I have thrown the machine away, along with the magazines and cover discs, not to mention games. I guess chucking the mags/cover discs away wasn't a great choice, I do sometimes regret it and I could have made a good contribution to the online Atari community if I had kept all those discs that I trashed. But there still are a few discs that I have, odd games and my own personal discs which are useless (without a proper ST to use them) , and may soon be thrown away by someone for they are old discs, some single-side formatted !
So this website has been set up to help with the archiving of the discs. More on how this will be achieved will be in the Resources section, along with any software that is used in the process. Check the News section to keep up-to-date with how it is all going, and you can email me by going to the Email section. The Links section will have links to Atari-related resources but is not up running yet, and eventually there will be a Disc Images section, for others to download my preserved backups.
